November’s domestic flyers numbers rise
December 20th, 2010 - 10:09 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 20 (IANS) Domestic airlines Monday reported a rise of 5.58 percent in the total number of passengers carried by them in November, which stood at 48.75 lakh as against 46.17 lakh in October this year.Jet Airways led the pack with 9.34 lakh passengers, followed by Kingfisher Airlines (9.32 lakh) and Air India (8.36 lakh), a civil aviation ministry statement said.
The low cost carriers (LCCs) were led by IndiGo with 8.43 lakh passengers followed by SpiceJet (6.50 lakh), Go Air (3.37 lakh) and Jet Lite with 3.43 lakh passengers.
The statement added that Jet Airways took the largest market share for November with 19.2 percent followed by Kingfisher Airlines at 19.1 percent, IndiGo at 17.3 percent and Air India at 17.1 percent.
