Nokia announces acquisition of Novarra
April 9th, 2010 - 11:25 pm ICT by BNO NewsESPOO, FINLAND (BNO NEWS) – Nokia announced Friday that it has completed the acquisition of Novarra, Inc.
The negotiations were initially announced on March 26, 2010, as Novarra’s movile browser and services platform will be used by the Finnish communications corporation Nokia, enhancing their Internet services on their series 40 mobile phones.
Novarra is an Internet Mobility company based in Chicago, Illinois, providing mobile browsers and platforms for operators, handset manufacturers and internet brands to create new services and revenue streams for smartphones, features phones and mobile broadband devices.
The acquisition will strongly take effect as more than 1.2 billion people around the world currently use a Nokia device.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
