No indemnity to November 3 actions of Musharraf: Rabbani

Peshawar, July 26 (ANI): Ruling coalition partners in Pakistan have agreed not to give any indemnity to the November 3 actions of President Pervez Musharraf, said Raza Rabbani, Leader of the House in the Senate.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Rabbani said, Musharraf has no right to address joint session of the Parliament as he has no role in the countrys politics and affairs of the government.
Musharraf should have resigned after February 18 polls as the people had rejected his governments policies, he added.
Rabbani said the coalition government wanted to do away with the Schedule 6 of the Constitution under which the Parliament was not authorised to make any legislation without the assent of the President.
He further added that the prime objective of the coalition government was to establish supremacy of the constitution and Parliament and that the Senate had played a positive role in this connection as it tried to remove sense of deprivation among the smaller provinces.
About the restoration of the deposed judges, he said the Ministry of Law was finalising the procedure for the reinstatement of sacked judges, The News reported. (ANI)
