Nielsen Co. Decides To Close “Editor & Publisher” Journal

Dec. 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Global economic crisis that has earlier affected many reputed media industries and have made some of them to wind up their businesses, recently affected Nielsen Co. The latest reports about the Nielsen Co. state that they have decided to stop the publication of Editor & Publisher journal, which is one of the popular brands of the company. This journal has been in existence for more than one hundred years and have provided several important information regarding the industries of North America. Greg Mitchell, the editor said, that closing of Editor & Publishers has come as “a shock”. He said that they were aware of some big change will take place yet they never anticipated the final result will lead to the closure of Editor & Publisher.
Though Nielsen Co. has officially declared the closing of online as well as print version of the journal, Greg Mitchell still is hopeful about its survival. He hopes that someone would come to save the old journal that has played a significant role in the media industry for several decades. The company officials, who are possessing a different opinion, indicated that they want to focus on the companies that have the maximum growth potential yet they have not disclosed the financial turnover of Editor & Publisher.
Along with the Editor and Publisher journal, the company has also decided to close their Kirkus Reviews. According to the reports, the closure of these two publications will lead to the job loss of eighteen people. The company has also decided to sell their well-known trade journals Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, stated reports.
