2007-dodge-caliber-front-view1 May 4, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of America is exploring a grievance about the sticky accelerator pedals in the 2007 model-year Dodge Caliber compact cars. These were constructed by Chrysler.

The Elkhart, Indiana-based CTS Corp. is the provider for Chrysler pedals. It is attention-grabbing to note down that the same company bequeaths pedals to Toyota. Now, Toyota encountered a similar crisis recently and had to recall all of its cars from the showrooms. Toyota has persevered that its gas pedal crisis was generated by mechanical and not electronic issues.

Up till now, no mishap or damage of any sort has been mentioned linked to the issue. Chrysler has proclaimed that it has obtained just five reports linked to the problem.

Nick Cappa, Chrysler’s spokesperson, has divulged that the crisis can be mechanical and not associated with design or any electronic matter. He added that the pedal is dissimilar from the recently recalled Toyota gas pedal.
