Auckland, Oct 30 (IANS) The aroma of Indian spices will swirl around this New Zealand city as the first ever Indian spice festival kicks off here Sunday.
The five-day festival is being organised by the Spices Board India in collaboration with the Indian High Commission and the Stamford Plaza hotel.
Hundreds of spice traders, importers and exporters from New Zealand will have the opportunity to meet some of the leading spice manufacturers from India.
The Spices Board India, under the ministry of commerce, works for the development and worldwide promotion of Indian spices.
Sunny Kaushal, Stamford Plaza’s marketing director, said the participation of the Spices Board India in the spice festival was of special interest to traders as this is an important and one of the biggest trade events in New Zealand.
India produces a wide range of spices and holds a prominent position in world spice production.
