New York, Dec 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In tune with the fast and hectic lifestyles where time is an a premium and information is at an overload, New York Times has tried to come out with a balanced application called the Times Skimmer in which the stories are all there within easy reach, with the familiar look and feel of a newspaper too.
It provides its online readers with the familiar layout and experience of paging through a newspaper. The headlines and the stories are properly placed out and the user can dig into which ever one his fancy is caught by. Times Skimmer displays a proper collection of headlines and the story summary in a grid layout. All the stories have the equal space irrespective of their reach or influence in the world.
The application is perfectly designed for optimal viewing on different screen sizes and many different browsers too. And on top of that the Times Skimmer can be customized to our preferences too, as readers can select from seven different display options to choose the layout that best meets their interests and preferences.
“Times Skimmer presents the news in an elegant and interesting way that brings the serendipity that readers appreciate from the newspaper to NYTimes.com,” said Denise Warren, senior vice president and chief advertising officer, The New York Times Media Group and general manager, NYTimes.com. “With this application, we are giving our online readers another way to view the latest news and updates in a choice of formats that best suit their preferences.”
And when the user is interested in a story and wants to read more about it than just the summary then he can click on the story and the full text-bodied story opens up.
