569New Orleans, June 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Susan Spicer who happens to be one of the most sought after chefs of New Orleans has gone ahead to have sued BP for all damages to the restaurants which have suffered heavily from a serious shortage of normal seafood supply owing to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

The complaint was filed against BP on Friday by Spicer’s lawyer Serena Pollack. The 18 page complaint held BP responsible for all losses which the restaurants have suffered after the oil spill. It was also said that customers came in less numbers owing to contamination fears which have affected the revenue module of the restaurant vehemently. When asked about the complaint, BP spokesman Mark Salt refrained from making any comment on the case. “Bayona” which opened its gates way back in the year of 1990 has been one of the top restaurants of New Orleans and has been rated high in all major restaurant surveys conducted all over the country. Susan Spicer has also been awarded with a James Beard Foundation award and has made occasional television appearances in shows like Bravo’s “Top Chef” and “Iron Chef America” on Food Network.

The lawsuit filed against BP has asked for a heavy compensation for all “punitive damages” caused to the restaurant. Along with BP, the names of the defendants including Transocean Ltd (the rig operator) Halliburton Co unit (Cementing Services) and Cameron International Corp (Blowout Preventer) was also mentioned in the lawsuit. As a matter of fact, a total of 250 lawsuits have been already filed since the oil spill took a heavy tool upon one and all in the state.
