New Microsoft CFO is Peter Klein as Chris Liddell quits

Redmond, Nov 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Microsoft Corporation has announced on Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell has quit after 4 1/2 years in Microsoft. He said that he is leaving to seek a new position that broadens his career.

The fifty-one year old Chris Liddell, is all set to leave at the end of the year.

The Microsoft Corporation also announced that Peter Klein would replace him. Peter Klein was earlier serving as the finance chief of the company’s business and server units, which were the company’s two biggest businesses with reference to sales in the last quarter.

Chris Liddell, is a New Zealand native, and he joined Microsoft in almost 5 years back in 2005. There was quiet a buzz when he was announced as the CFO, as he was an outsider and no outsider had been appointed to this top office in more than 2 decades.

As far as Peter Klein’s past career history goes, he was previously the CFO at International Paper Co. and had been CEO at Carter Holt Harvey Ltd. Carter Holt Harvey was New Zealand’s second-largest public company, when the company’s reigns were in the hands of Peter Klein.
