Rotterdam, Sep 24 (IANS) The Netherlands will focus on industrial design at the “Design Cross-over Rotterdam” conference here Friday to promote India-Dutch collaboration, the European nation’s India desk said Thursday.
“The roundtable conference in Rotterdam shall open doors to opportunities between Rotterdam and India in integrated and sustainable design and the related design sectors,” the Netherlands India desk said in a statement.

The statement quoted Dutch Trade Minister Frank Heemskerk as saying that industrial design in the creative sector was a focus area for his government to promote Indo-Dutch collaboration.

Added Rotterdam mayor Aboutaleb: “Rotterdam gives priority to India, as part of the so-called BRICT countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and Turkey). It is expected that in the strategy towards India, the creative sector will be marked as one of the focus sectors.”

The Netherlands India Desk is a gateway to business and is the first public-private partnership between the two countries, with offices in Rotterdam and Gurgaon in India.
