Neesa group in expansion mode
February 23rd, 2010 - 5:40 pm ICT by IANSAhmedabad, Feb 23 (IANS) The Rs.6,000 crore-Neesa group is set for a major thrust in the hospitality and leisure industry with three upcoming projects in Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The group company Neesa Leisure Ltd (NLL) would increase its total inventory to over 1,000 rooms with the commissioning of new properties in Neemrana (Haryana), Dahej (Gujarat) and Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Neesa group chairman Sanjay Gupta told IANS.
The company, which owns luxurious retreats in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Udaipur, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Kallam (Kerala) and Gurgaon (Haryana), develops and manages properties on its own. It is building its brand under the name ‘Cambay’.
The integrated hospitality-cum-leisure business company is involved in hotels and resorts, vacation holidays, clubbing and hotel management and education.
The group aims at emerging as a one-stop shop for complete travel solutions, Gupta said.
He said the company’s tie-up with 4,000 hotels and resorts, spreading over 100 cities worldwide, enabled them to offer local and global customer specific tour solutions.
Gupta, a former Gujarat cadre IAS officer who was the managing director of Gujarat Tourism and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), said he foresaw great opportunity for expansion in the field.
“While we are scouting for contract properties in various cities to forge ahead in the business segment, we intend to promote our own properties in the leisure segment,” he added.
Besides leisure, the group also has presence in infrastructure, agritech, energy, technologies, spa and engineering.
