NCCC says its appointment lawful
July 14th, 2008 - 12:42 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi ( Leave a comment )Secretary-General of the National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC), Sarawut Menasawet (ศราวุธ เมนะเศวต), says NCCC’s appointment and work is lawful and only members of the parliament and senators can launch a campaign to inspect NCCC.
Mr Sarawut says NCCC is not concerned over an impeachment threat against it and there is no law stating that the government can remove NCCC. However, he says the parliament can gather signatures of one in fourth of MPs and senators to remove NCCC.
The secretary-general affirms NCCC and the government have no conflicts and both of them work separately.
