NALCO bags top export Capexil award
October 3rd, 2011 - 8:00 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Oct 3 (IANS) The state-owned National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) Monday said it has bagged the top export Capexil award for its outstanding export performance during 2010-11.
Capexil is a government body to facilitate export of chemical-based and allied products in the country.
P.K. Parida, executive director (Marketing) of NALCO, received the award from Jyotiraditya Scindia, union minister of state for commerce and industry, in Mumbai Sep 30, the company said in a statement here.
During the 2010-11 fiscal, NALCO exported 639,855 tonnes of alumina and 98,200 tonnes of aluminium to different countries earning Rs.2,065 crore.
“NALCO has bridged the demand-supply gap in the country by saving the outflow of foreign exchange and has given the country a new identity, a formidable presence in the international market”, the statement added.
The Bhubaneswar-headquartered company is exporting its products including calcined alumina and aluminium metal to 15 countries across the globe.
