Mumbai industrialist J.M. Mansukhani dead
November 1st, 2011 - 8:33 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Nov 1 (IANS) Well-known Mumbai industrialist J.M. Mansukhani, patriarch and co-founder of MAN Industries, died here late Monday night, an official said Tuesday. He was 79.
Mansukhani is survived by a daughter and three sons, one of whom is R.C. Mansukhani, currently chairman of the one billion-dollar line pipe manufacturing giant.
After migrating from Pakistan post-Partition, Mansukhani made an humble beginning as a sugar mill chemist in Jaora, Madhya Pradesh, facing immense difficulties and struggles.
Adopting a ‘never-say-die’ attitude, he turned to entrepreneurship and ventured in the agriculture and kirana businesses.
In order to achieve his larger dream, he moved from Jaora to Ratlam, Indore and then to Mumbai where he ventured into steel, cement and construction.
He set up the MAN Industries India Ltd, which is now a front-ranking manufacturer of SAW pipes and coating systems for high-pressure oil and gas applications.
