Bangalore, April 8 (IANS) Back office operations firm Mphasis Ltd is acquiring Fortify Infrastructure Services, a global provider of offshore-based remote IT operations and management (ROM) services, in an all-cash deal, the company said Thursday.
Mphasis did not disclose the transaction value.

The strategic acquisition will give Mphasis access to marquee customers, a talent pool of professionals and a proven platform to offer outcome-based services beyond the service level agreements, the company said in a statement here.

“The 100 percent acquisition of Fortify will catapult us ahead as a provider of offshore based ROM services. Mid-market customers are looking for partners to solve the challenges of operating and managing their IT infrastructure. We see this as our sweet spot to provide cost effective and outcome based ROM services.” Mphasis chief executive Ganesh Ayyar said.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of global IT major Hewlett Packard (HP), the Bangalore-headquartered Mphasis offers applications services, remote management services and business processing outsourcing (BPO) services.

With about 35,000 people, the company services clients in financial services, healthcare, communications, transportation, consumer & retail industries and governments the world over.

The privately held US-based Fortify provides ROM services spanning data centre operations, systems and application infrastructure management, managed security services, network monitoring and management and virtualisation services.

“Our track record in providing outcome-based ROM services will offer mid-market customers a flexible, high-value operations management platform to achieve their business objectives,” Fortify chief executive Rajkumar Velagapudi noted.

Fortify has command centres at Pune in Maharashtra and at Santa Clara in the US.
