July 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) British Petroleum is finding it extremely hard to stay out of the news in recent months. The latest reports to hit the oil giants suggest that within 48 hours of admitting to retouch the release oil spill pictures, more photos have surfaced that are allegedly altered. This is the third time that the allegations have cropped up against the organization.
Several experts complained that BP had allegedly altered the pictures of the oil spill crisis that elicited a response from the spokesperson of the company saying that they will make sure that the post production guys do not change the pictures before release. The recently released picture that created the controversy was found to be edited beforehand by a website that first broke the news. The picture showed a number of vessels devoted to the clean up operation of the Gulf oil spill. The picture is shown to be taken from a helicopter in flight with a vast panoramic view. The original photo showed several differences with the one released by BP. Not only was the inside of the helicopter much darker, but it was also grounded on the helipad. The photo experts has removed the visible part of the helipad and added water to the image that made it look as if the helicopter was in flight.
The photo controversy only adds to the public relations woes of British Petroleum who are reeling from the oil spill disaster. Several bloggers have criticized the editing of the photos and said that it is as fake as their damage control measures.
