Mohandas Pai quits Infosys Board

Mumbai, Apr 15 (ANI): In a major setback to information technology (IT) giant Infosys, the company on Friday announced that Mohandas Pai has resigned as member of the Infosys Board and as Director, Human Resources Department with effect from June 11, 2011.

His resignation has come as a surprise for people in the industry, as there was no earlier indication on it.

Pai, however, said he had been contemplating his resignation for sometime. He said the young leadership should be given a chance.

Infosys also announced its Quarter four results.

Pai had been in a finance role as Chief Financial Officer of Infosys since 1994, and later took responsibility for the critical functions of human resources and education. He is also a well-known public face and has been part of various committees such as the Kelkar Committee for reforming direct taxes and is currently on the SEBI board.

The IT giant reported nearly 14 percent in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,818 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011, which is less than market expectations. (ANI)
