Mobile phone towers in Chandigarh homes to stay, for now
May 24th, 2012 - 7:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 24 (IANS) In a relief to the telecom service providers and mobile phone users, the Supreme Court Thursday ordered status quo thereby red-flagging the removal of 180 phone towers in residential areas of Chandigarh.
The apex court bench of Justice Deepak Verma and Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya directed the status quo on a petition by Vodafone South Ltd. challenging the Punjab and Haryana High Court order directing the removal of all mobile phone towers in city homes.
