Oct 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Toy maker Fisher Price is the latest to join the bandwagon of companies recalling their products with the toy manufacturer recalling 10 million of its items on Thursday. In the recall which would be effective in United States and Canada, an estimated seven million Trikes and Tough Trikes tricycles for toddlers would be affected. The officials of the toy making giant have cited safety concerns as the reason for such extensive recall of its products.
In a statement that has been released by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, it has been divulged that the main reason which propelled the company to recall some of its products was due to the fact that the protruding plastic ignition key can cause serious injuries such as genital bleeding to kids. Apart from these, another 165, 090 toys with inflatable balls have also been included in the recall after concerns were raised about the valve of the balls which supposedly result in choking. While talking about the recall, a spokesperson of Fisher Price has said that emphasized that products manufactured by the company are safe for children while adding that the toy maker works under highly regulated industry.
After the large number of toys were recalled by Fisher Price, retailers have been instructed to take the products off the shelves while the consumers who have bought the toys have been asked to stop using it immediately. The consumers who have purchased the toys featured in the recall list have been urged to contact a helpline number that has been provided for a refund or a replacement product.
