Washington, Mar 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Recession is on the decline, as the number of millionaires in the US is on the rise. An industry-consulting group delivered the good news on Tuesday, when they said that the number of US families that have a net worth of at least $1 million have risen by an amazing 16%. There was a decline in the number of millionaire households in 2008, on account of the economic crisis and the recession. So this year, a gain of around 16% is pretty good news economically. The Spectrum Group attributed the rise to the US stock markets, which have bounced back.

The Spectrum Group said that in 2008, there were 6.7 million such households and then in 2009, the figure reached 7.8 million. In 2007, there was a decrease of over 27% in the numbers of the US families, which have a net worth of at least $1 million. However there is little to rejoice about, as the present numbers are way below the 9.2 million US families, which have a net worth of at least $1 million, in 2007.

Spectrum Group said that their findings were based on the poll of over 3,000 very affluent families, and they also used an online poll of over 2,600 families.
