New Delhi, Sep 11(IANS) Metrosexuality was at its peak as two designers - Aslam Khan and Rajvi Mohan - showcased a collection that exhibited more skin than clothes for men at the Van Heusen India Men’s Week (VHIMW) that kickstarted here Friday.
The toned torsos and hairless legs of the male models did more to add oomph to the shows. The audience cheered Khan’s models as they sashayed across the ramp wearing colourful and stylish mini shorts with open and sleeveless shirts.

These were followed by clothes with hints of bright, garish colours like shocking pink, fluorescent green, sunshine yellow, red and orange, as well as soft colours like baby pink, pale yellow, grey and beige.

While some outfits looked like kids’ clothes, others like the capris and shirt seemed to be aimed at a casual look for the modern man.

Rajvi Mohan, who is among the few dedicated women designers for men in India, had her models dressed in lightweight, relaxed and washed away clothes. She worked around cool multi-scale patterns with vibrant colour splashes on jackets, shirts, t-shirts, short jackets and long jackets.

The men, who partly exposed their bodies wearing open shirts, rocked to Cliff Richard’s classic number “Summer Holiday”. Some of them even carried fake surf boards and wore trendy flip flops to add a chilled out feel and a beach look to the collection.

“I wanted to show the surfer attitude of men. My collection is for the man who gives a damn about things when he wants to holiday. One can wear these clothes during the day or the night. It’s easy to dress up and easy dress down. It’s all for the laidback who want to just retire to the beach,” Mohan told reporters after her show.
