Meijer Recalls Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters After Customer Complaints

heaterNov 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) They say, prevention is always better than cure and the same policy is applied by American hypermarket chain Meijer. One of America’s Largest private companies Meijer has recalled about 6,700 Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters in cooperation with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The company said that it took such a step after two complaints of fire and property damage from the heaters.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the decision of recall on Tuesday. The officials said that Meijer recalled the Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters the company discovered that the heater’s oscillation mechanism is defective and the consumers might face fire hazards if they use the product. However, no reports of any injury has been reported yet. The news release of Consumer Product Safety Commission states that the recall involves Touch Point PTC oscillating ceramic heater with serial numbers between 35005-43008 of model number PTC-902. The news release also states that the serial number and model number is written at the bottom of the heater. The heaters are about 10 inches tall and they have screen at their front.

The media outlets reported that the products cost around $25 and they are available for purchase at the Meijer stores in Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan between October 2009 and October 2010. The company has advised its consumers not to use the flawed products and the consumers are advised to return the products if they have bought it already. The company promises full refund once the customers return the heaters. In the news release the company gave its number and helpline and asked the customers to contact them immediately if they need any help.
