MCD told to shift out factories
September 20th, 2011 - 9:16 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been asked to move industrial units out of residential and non-conforming areas.
The Delhi government and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corp (DSIIDC) have given the list of such industrial units to MCD, an official statement said Tuesday.
In 1996, the Supreme Court called for the closure of industrial units functioning in residential and non-conforming areas in Delhi.
The Delhi government’s industries department has allotted industrial plots to 22,499 industrial units for relocation.
