MCD to set up veterinary hub
December 8th, 2010 - 11:27 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is planning to set up a veterinary hub, housing dog sterilisation centres, horse pounds and dispensary for animals, in north Delhi.
The hub will come up on a 27-acre land in Mukundpur. “The hub will house a pig pound and pig slaughter house, a horse pound, 10 dog sterilisation centres, canine cremation ground and a veterinary dispensary,” Municipal Commissioner K.S. Mehra said while presenting the 2011-12 MCD budget.
He also said that the civic body has appealed to the Delhi government to include the project in the 2011-12 annual plan.
