Aug 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Mazda Motor Corporation is all set to recall over 215,000 Mazda 3 and Mazda 5 vehicles because of a steering issue. All the vehicles, which would form a part of the recall, were sold in the US only. The company has initiated the recall because they fear that the affected vehicles could lose their power steering all of a sudden without providing a clue to the drivers in advance.

The loss of the power steering is certainly a major issue and it shouldn’t be taken lightly at all. So the company officials initiated the recall and also announced it in tandem with the officials of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Monday.

Mazda has refused to mention if there have been any crashes because of the power steering defect. However they did add that the steering could lose power because of rust from a high-pressure pipe, which would in turn strain the steering pump and thus suddenly cause the whole assembly system to shut down.

However the Mazda officials also added that they are in a fix because the company is also experiencing an acute shortage of parts to fix the affected vehicles.
