Maybach May Be Made By Aston Martin

Dec 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Daimler is in talks with legendary UK based luxury car maker Aston Martin which may result in the latter making and marketing the Maybach brand of the former company. Aston Martin became famous through the several James Bond flicks where its models were widely used by the debonair detective. A reputed media entity has reported that Aston Martin will get the engine technology from thew German brand for building the cars. A partnership is likely to be beneficial for both the luxury brands as they can reap the economic benefits for making niche models in low volume.
A few days back Daimler said in a statement that it was mulling over the possibility of making cars under the Maybach brand. A company spokesperson said diplomatically on the talk with the British luxury car maker “There is no cooperation deal with Aston Martin. We are often in talks about various topics, such as the donating technology for the Lagonda show car”. Aston martin has not made any official statement on this issue so far.
A partnership may help both the companies as Maybach a low volume luxury brand has faced sales problems for long and Aston Martin has been looking for such deals since its sale by Ford three years back. The strict emission norms imposed in Europe and USA has forced luxury brands including Lamborghini and Bugatti seeking partnership with high profile mainstream brands like Volkswagen. The upmarket Maybach is facing stiff competition from costly rivals like Bentley and Rolls Royce for some time and needs a solution for that.
