petMassachusetts, Apr 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As expected this April Fool’s Day turned out to be one of those days when pranks were being played in every part of the world with nobody being left out of the loop. While on one side, there was Google, which possibly played the biggest prank on the rest of the world, on the other hand there were two radio jockeys from Massachusetts, who pulled off an incredible prank on a much smaller scale. The radio jockeys carried the trick on their thousands of listeners, obviously cashing in on their popularity and the present political scenario of the country.

The story that was cracked by the two radio jockeys of the radio station Mix 104.1, was that the government in Massachusetts is about to initiate a new tax, called the pet tax. The two radio jockey, known as Karson and Kennedy, also clarified that the tax is going to be implemented in order to allow the government to pull up all the expenses that would be incurred by the new and reformed health care bill. The prank was made all the more believable by the inclusion of few well known political names in it, and also the presence of detailed facts.

The radio jockeys elucidated that the tax had been proposed by Representative Gary Richardson, from Massachusetts. They also clarified that the tax would be levied on all domesticated animals, depending on their weight. However, they joked, it is possible that the pet dog of the President himself might be exempted from the tax. Some radio stations in Illinois also played along with the Massachusetts jockeys, and reported that they would be the second state to implement the tax.
