Maruti net zooms 105 percent in 2009-10
April 26th, 2010 - 6:57 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 26 (IANS) India’s top carmaker Maruti Suzuki Monday reported a net profit of Rs.2,497.6 crore for 2009-10, a growth of 105 percent over the last fiscal.
The company’s total income for 2009-10 climbed 40 percent over 2008-09 to Rs.30,119.7 crore, it said in a statement.
The net profit during the January-March quarter stood at Rs.656.6 crore, up 170 percent over the same period previous fiscal.
In 2009-10, the company sold 10,18,365 units against 792,167 units in 2008-09, a jump of 29 percent in total sales.
While the domestic sales stood at 870,790 units, the company exported 1,47,575 units, the statement added.
The rural sales accounted for 16.5 percent of the company’s total sales against 9.5 percent in 2008-09.
