Market trading with huge gain in early trade

Mumbai, July 9 (IANS) The Indian equities market was trading with substantial gains in early trade Wednesday following a sharp fall in crude oil prices. Buying was seen in auto, banking, realty, power and capital goods stocks. The 30-share benchmark sensitive index of Bombay Stock Exchange opened with a gain of 231.76 points at 13,581.41 points. Ten minutes into the trade, the sensex was trading at 13,858.85 with a gain of 509.20 points or 3.81 percent.

At the same time, S&P Nifty of National Stock Exchange was trading at 4,121.85 points with a gain of 133.30 points or 3.34 percent compared to its last close.

Market breadth was positive. On BSE, 1305 shares advanced compared to 238 that declined and 20 that remained unchanged.

ICICI bank, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Communications were among the major gainers at the initial trade.

Asian markets were trading higher.
