Maoist damage rail tracks in Chhattisgarh
July 12th, 2010 - 10:28 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, July 12 (IANS) Train movement was affected Monday in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district as Maoists damaged rail tracks, an official said.
The guerrillas had damaged tracks up to 30 metres between Bhansi and Bacheli railway stations in the Waltair division of the East Coast Railway, some 410 km south of Raipur.
“The tracks were uprooted early Sunday, halting movement of goods trains and a lone daily passenger train. Repairs are underway and rail services expected to resume on the line within a day or two,” a Waltair division railway official told IANS over phone.
