Mangalore refinery to get second parcel of Mangala crude
October 28th, 2009 - 10:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS) Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd (MRPL), a unit of the state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), will receive the second parcel of crude from Cairn India’s Mangala fields early next month.
“We will get the second parcel in the first week of November, and the third parcel end-November or early December,” MRPL managing director U.K. Basu said Wednesday.
Only after processing all three cargos, MRPL will be able to evaluate if the crude was successful or not, he said.
Basu said MRPL was mixing the Mangala crude with Bombay High Crude in a ratio of 1:4.
The company Wednesday announced good results for the second quarter ending Sep 30, as it posted a net profit of Rs.180 crore in the like period last year.
But, turnover dipped by 39 percent to Rs.8,932 crore this year from Rs.14,662 crore last year.
