Maintainance work Sunday on Delhi Metro’s Gurgaon line
December 17th, 2010 - 8:32 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS) Commuters travelling to Gurgaon on the Delhi Metro’s Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre line may face some inconvenience Sunday due to track maintainance work on a section of the service.According to a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson Friday, the maintenance work will be carried out between Sultanpur and Guru Dronacharya metro stations, which are two stations apart.
Due to the work from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., train services will be available with a frequency of 24 minutes between Sultanpur and Guru Dronacharya metro stations, while passengers will have to wait for 10 minutes at Guru Dronacharya to board a train for HUDA city centre, said the spokesperson.
Also, passengers from the HUDA centre side going towards Jahangirpuri will have to get down at Guru Dronacharya station and those travelling towards Gurgaon will have to get down at Sultanpur and board connecting trains. “Necessary announcements will be made at all stations on the line for passenger information,” the spokesperson added.
However, on the major part of the route (Jahangirpuri to Sultanpur), the train services will be available with a frequency of 3.40 minutes - slightly longer than the usual frequency.
Asked as to how the metro would cope with the rush due to low frequency of trains, the spokesperson said that if the need arises, feeder bus services between Sultanpur and HUDA city centre metro stations may be run to maintain smooth movement of passengers on the section.
Services on all other lines will be as per normal schedule Sunday.
