Bloomingdale outlet stores New York, Jan 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Macy Incorporation is planning to test a new concept of Bloomingdale outlet stores and they have already selected 4 cities in this regard. The 4 cities where the Bloomingdale outlets will be opened are Bergen Town Center in Paramus, N.J Dolphin Mall in Miami; Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Va.; and the Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Fla.

Macy’s disclosed that the Bloomingdale stores will have around 25,000 square feet of space in which they are planning to sell a variety of things. They will basically focus on apparel and accessories, which include women’s ready-to-wear, men’s, children’s, women’s shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags, and intimate apparel. The exact locations of the stores are still not known, because the final lease agreements are being processed.

“We have been studying the opportunities for entering the off-the-mall outlet business for some time, and the timing now is right given the consumer’s particular focus on value in addition to fashion and quality,” said Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren in the news release. “The first Bloomingdale’s Outlet stores will be in excellent, high-traffic locations. Our real estate developer partners have been very supportive and encouraging as we pursued this strategy.”
