New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) Italian eyewear group Luxottica is opening over 100 stores of its Sunglass Hut retail brand in India through a franchising agreement with Indian real estate giant DLF Group, the companies announced Tuesday in a joint statement.Luxottica, one of the world’s biggest eyewear makers with more than 2,000 outlets across the globe, will open the first Sunglass Hut store in India this month.
The statement said the stores will come up in select high-end malls and premium locations.
“For a few years now, DLF has been involved in developing important projects for the establishment of big brands in India. We are delighted to partner with Luxottica in this important retail initiative,” DLF Retail Brands Pvt Ltd chief executive Kelvin Coyle said.
Luxottica has already entered into alliances with premium fashion brands Armani, Dolce and Gabbana and Salvatore Ferragamo. The company is also eyeing multi-brand retail and has been in talks with some major foreign retailer for partnership.
