L&T bags Rs.844 cr order from Nuclear Power Corp
December 8th, 2009 - 4:10 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS) Construction and engineering major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has bagged a contract worth Rs.844 crore from the state-run Nuclear Power Corp of India Ltd (NPCIL), the company said Tuesday.
As per the contract, L&T will build a reactor at the Kakrapar atomic power project of NPCIL at Tapi in Gujarat
Besides building the reactor building and auxiliary buildings, L&T will also set up a waste management mechanism and a heavy water upgrading plant at the site, the company said in a statement.
The project is expected to be completed in 49 months.
“This is the country’s first 700 MW pressurised heavy water reactor (PHWR) plant being indigenously developed by NPCIL,” L&T said.
