L&T bags Rs.1,610-crore contract for power project
September 27th, 2010 - 4:11 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Sep 27 (IANS) Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said Monday it has got a Rs.1,610-crore contract from Visa Power to build two power plants of 600 MW each in Chhattisgarh.
The plants in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh will be commissioned in 29-32 months, L&T said in a statement.
Under the contract, to be executed on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis, L&T will design, engineer, supply, erect and commission all the balance work at the two plants.
The technology, engineering and construction firm is currently executing similar projects in different parts of the country. Last month, it had bagged a Rs.6,500-crore contract from Jaiprakash Group Power.
