L&T bags Rs.1,449 crore order for a Chhattisgarh power plant

New Delhi, Oct 19 (IANS) Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Monday said it has bagged an order worth Rs.1,449 crore for building a 1,200 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgrah.

“Larsen and Toubro has bagged an order valued at Rs.1,449 crore from DB Power Limited, promoted by the Bhaskar Group. L&T will execute complete Balance of Plant (BOP) for DB Power’s 2×600 MW thermal power plant,” the company said in a statement.

According to the company, the power plant will be commissioned in a time span of 31 months in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh.

The company will design, engineer, supply, erect and commission the BOP equipment and system on a engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis as well as associated services.

The company has established a joint venture with Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Engineering for the manufacturing of supercritical boilers and turbines.
