L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt questioned by the French police

Paris, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Liliane Bettencourt, who is the owner of L’Oreal cosmetics, which is one of the biggest cosmetic companies in the world is under investigation related to her finances, according her lawyer.
Georges Kiejman said that his client is being questioned by financial investigators in her home in the French capital. She’s been declared to be related in non-tax payment case.
According to the AP, Attorney Kiejman said that, the questioning was “something disagreeable that went as well as possible.”
Speculation has been rife about billionaire’s family in recent times with some reports saying they refused to honor their tax obligations and also funded French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s presidential company unlawfully in 2007.
The President has accused his opponents of fabricating these stories to harm his reputation. Current Forbes reports indicate Bettencourt as the top woman in the European rich list.
According to reports the 87-year-old L’Oreal heiress would certainly be asked about the tax evasions that have been alleged to be committed by her in the recent times. There were allegations against her that she funded the French President’s campaign to the tune of $193,000 so that she could deposit millions of dollars in other foreign banks and thus avoid paying taxes on them.
