London’s lord mayor to talk business in Delhi
October 21st, 2009 - 9:59 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) Lord Mayor of London Ian David Luder will wrapup his week-long visit to India with a two-day stay in Delhi commencing Thursday.
“Delhi is crucial to India’s expansion as a global economic powerhouse,” said Luder in a press release issued by the British High Commission here.
Luder, accompanied by a business delegation, visited Hyderabad and Mumbai earlier this week.
“I look forward to sharing views on how London and the UK can help India build its future as a leading economy of the 21st century,” he said.
He is scheduled to meet ministers and business leaders during his two-day Delhi stay.
As per the release, Luder will share UK’s expertise on the corporate debt market and in the area of infrastructure finance.
Aware of India’s target of $500 billion in infrastructure investment, Luder wants to show how “UK capital, public-private partnerships (PPP) and carbon-emissions trading expertise can contribute to India’s infrastructure development”.
