Kroger’s Onion Soup and Dip Mix Recall: One Among Many

Cincinnati, OH Mar 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After having quite a few recalls in the last six months,(site listing other recalls at the end of this article) The Kroger Company announced Friday that they are recalling their products “Kroger Onion Oup and Dip Mix” and “Kroger Beefy Onion Soup and Dip Mix.” This is due to the fact that Kroger has been notified by the supplier that the ingredients in the mix may have been contaminated with Salmonella. These mixes are sold at retails stares by these names; Kroger, Dillons, Fry’s, King Soopers, City Market, Smith’s, Food 4 Less, Jay C, Scott’s, Owen’s, Baker’s, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less. The stores by these names-Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC and Foods Co. are not in the recall. There have been no reported cases of illness due to eating these products, and the recall is a precautionary act.

The effected stores are in these areas: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois,Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, SouthCarolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia; Dillons and Gerbes stores in Kansas and Missouri; Fry’s stores in Arizona; King Soopers and City Market stores inColorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming; Smith’s stores in Arizona, Idaho, Montana,Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming; Baker’s stores in Nebraska; and Food 4 Less, Hilander, Jay C, Owen’s, Pay Less and Scott’s stores in Illinois and Indiana.

These are the exact products which are included in this particular recall :Kroger Onion Soup & Dip Mix sold in 2-ounce packages with sell-by dates from JAN
06 11 through FEB 17 11 under the following UPC code: 0001111073293
and Kroger Beefy Onion Soup & Dip Mix sold in 2.2-ounce packages with sell-by dates
from DEC 28 10 through FEB 23 11 under the following UPC code:0001111073929. Anyone who has bought these mixes should not eat them but return the to the store for a full refund. For questions about this recall, consumers are asked to call 1-800-632-6900.
