Oct 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Irene Rosenfeld, the chief executive officer of the confectionery and food giant Kraft Foods Inc. is all set to visit the Bourneville factory of the chocolate maker Cadbury for the very first time since the company brought the chocolate manufacturing firm. The much talked about takeover of Cadbury by the U.S company had grabbed headlines when it took place in February this year, more so owing to the negative response that the business deal had managed to generate. Therefore, it hardly comes as a surprise that Irene Rosenfeld’s visit to Cadbury’s main factory in United Kingdom has been hitting headlines ever since it was announced by the company officials.
Reports suggest, during her visit, Irene Rosenfeld is likely to meet up with all the employees as well as the management of the chocolate maker at its factory outlet in Bourneville while she is also expected to be part of a question-answer session with the workers of the factory. In the meanwhile, the British and Irish trade union Unite has welcomed the Kraft Foods Inc. CEO’s decision to visit the factory saying that the workers at Cadbury’s Bournville manufacturing site are looking forward to Irene Rosenfeld’s visit.
While reacting to Irene Rosenfeld’s visit to Cadbury’s factory, Unite’s national officer Jennie Formby revealed to the media that the workers expect Kraft Foods CEO to take out the time to meet the representatives of the union so that they can be assured of a bright future at all the sites of Cadbury/Kraft in the United Kingdom as well as in Ireland.
