Kolkata Metro services hit for 30 minutes
November 2nd, 2010 - 12:55 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Nov 2 (IANS) After a series of disruptions last month, Metro services in Kolkata were hit again Tuesday morning for half an hour after a train developed a technical snag at a station.
“The Dum Dum Metro station-bound train reached Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station and developed a technical snag. All the passengers were evicted,” Metro Railway chief spokesperson Pratyush Ghosh told IANS.
“The driver got a burning smell from the newly-inducted air-conditioned Metro rake. So, it was decided to evict the passengers,” he added.
Ghosh said the rake was later taken to a car-shed for checking.
