KFC to Offer $20,000 for Best Tweet

Nov 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kentucky Fried Chicken, otherwise known as ‘KFC’ revealed their plan today to award twenty thousand dollars to the college tuition of the high school student who offers the best tweet in an upcoming KFC Twitter contest.

Twitter has become quite a popular social media turned advertising venue with companies using Tweets to promote everything from chicken to airline tickets. JetBlue gave airline tickets to Tweets who were following, and actor Hugh Jackman stated that he would give a hundred thousand dollars to whichever charity could convince him to do so in a Tweet.

And now KFC has announced that they will give a twenty thousand dollar scholarship for the best Tweet offered by a high school student who can explain why they exemplify the commitment towards education and community from Colonel Sanders. Forty percent of the winning score will be from creativity, thirty will be from need, and the other thirty from drive.

Contest dates are from November 17, 2010 until November 26, 2010, and the wining Tweet will be announced on December 1. Tweets entering the contest should use the hashtag #KFCScholar.
