Kerala Travel Mart begins tomorrow
September 22nd, 2010 - 7:22 pm ICT by IANSKochi, Sep 22 ( IANS) Kerala Travel Mart will begin Thursday at the Bolgatty Palace Hotel near here with nearly 2,000 participants, both domestic and international.
The three-day event ends on Sep 26.
KTM president Riaz Ahmed said the mart will be inaugurated by Chief Justice of Kerala High Court Justice Jasti Chelameswar Thursday evening.
“A promotional film on Kerala Tourism, “Your Moment has Come” will be screened on the occasion. The objective behind selecting the theme is that tourism is considered as an eternal rainbow which connects countries, continents, people and above all the ‘atithi’ (guest) and ‘atitheya’ (host),” said Ahmed.
The whole venue has been decked up to showcase the culture, tradition and festivals of “God’s Own Country”, say the organisers.
The first marina in the country at the Bolgatty Island is all ready with the houseboats and luxury yachts.
The business sessions of the mart will begin on Sep 24 with “speed networking”. This is a structured networking opportunity to bring maximum number of introductions for both buyers and sellers.
Participants in a speed networking forum will meet more people, make more contacts and generate more business ideas in one short session. In just a few minutes, participants will share business cards, details about the product and valuable information about their business to advance business further.
“In all 550 international and 1,651 domestic buyers have registered and there are 370 sellers besides 12 houseboat owners,” a KTM spokesperson said.
