jon-corzineNew Jersey, Mar 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jon Corzine was never a politician from the beginning of his career. He was a veteran financial analyst who rose to fame during his stint at Goldman Sachs, the noted investment firm. He worked there as the chairman. He has two enviable offers as of now. Princeton University has zeroed in on him as its visiting professor. As if it was not enough, he has been appointed as the chairman and CEO of a leading Wall Street financial firm MF Global Holdings Ltd. The announcement came on Tuesday and it created waves in the US financial scene. The financial analysts think it is an excellent opportunity for him to re-enter the sphere of finance.

After leaving Goldman Sachs he got selected as a Democrat to the US Senate in the year 2000. Five years after that he became the Governor of New Jersey. It was in last year when he was beaten by Republican candidate Chris Christie in his re-election bid. Two years back a fatal car accident rendered him severely injured. However, he seems to have overcome the bad phase and the offer of Global Holdings Ltd corroborates the fact. He is slated to replace the former chief executive Bernard W. Dan.

Incidentally, the latter will be with the company for the next two months to aid the transition. He did not specify the exact reason for stepping down from his post though. Jon Corzine himself is rather excited at this development. He revealed that the offer has come to him at the proper time. He would love to get into the finance sector once more.
