New York, July 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Johnson & Johnson announced on Thursday that they are expanding the recall of its over the counter medicines.
The drugs include Tylenol, Benadryl and Motrin. The company said it is recalling about 21 batches of the drugs. This recall would add to the January recall by the company.
The recall, which was announced on Thursday, includes some types of Children’s Tylenol, some adult strength Benadryl, Tylenol Extra Strength, Motrin IB, Tylenol Day and Night and Tylenol PM.
The company failed to provide further details about the recall and the highly disgraced company said they would not even give the information on how many packages of the drugs that they would be recalling.
It may be recalled that the Johnson & Johnson’s subsidiary, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, announced the earlier recall in January after complaints of “musty or moldy odor”. This massive recall sparked investigations from the Food and Drugs Administration in the United States. The result of the FDA investigation revealed long list of bad manufacturing practices in some of the company’s plants.
The company got in the bad books of the US authorities, for its delay in following up to customer complaints.
This led to the temporary suspension of the company’s plant in Washington.
