Jharkhand launches online tax payment (Lead)
December 27th, 2010 - 9:12 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Dec 27 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda Monday launched an e-payment tax facility for commercial units.”This is just a beginning, and soon all departments will go online. This would ensure transparency,” Munda said here.
“People will no longer have to make umpteen trips to concerned departments. The simplified process will increase revenue collection,” he said.
All state taxes, including excise and sales, of Rs.5 lakh and above can be made online.
Jharkhand is the 22nd state to start e-payment service. It has launched an e-procurement facility for government tenders.
