Jet to operate all flights to London despite strike
November 29th, 2011 - 9:04 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Nov 29 (IANS) Jet Airways Tuesday said it would operate all its three flights to London Wednesday despite a 24-hour nationwide strike in Great Britain, an official said.
The airline operates two Boeing 777 flights daily from Mumbai and one from New Delhi to the British capital.
In a travel advisory to its passengers booked for Wednesday (Nov 30), Jet Airways said that due to a nationwide industrial action by public sector unions, including UK Border Agency staff, there could be congestion on arrivals and result in extended delays to flights.
“The Civil Aviation Authority, UK, has informed all airlines that congestion arrivals would impact the incoming flights and could result in extended delays due to the 24-hour strike,” the spokesperson said.
Accordingly, to avoid delays both in flight arrivals and immigration, Jet Airways has advised its passengers to rebook themselves for flights at a later days, between Dec 1-7.
While the rebookings would be done free of cost, in case of cancellations, normal charges would be applicable as per the fare rules, said the airline.
