Jet Airways to connect Gulf with Dhaka via Mumbai
August 26th, 2009 - 9:24 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Aug 26 (IANS) India’s private carrier Jet Airways Wednesday said it would connect its daily Gulf services to Dhaka via Mumbai from Sep 15.
“Effective September 15, we will introduce new daily, direct services on the Mumbai-Dhaka-Mumbai sector. This will be our third daily service to Bangladesh from India and connect travelers to and from the Gulf with Dhaka, via Mumbai,” the airlines said in a statement.
The flight arriving from the Gulf will depart from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 8.40 a.m., and arrive at Dhaka’s Zia International Airport at 1 p.m. The return flight will depart from Dhaka at 3.30 p.m. and arrive at Mumbai at 5 p.m.
The airline currently flies daily from Delhi and Kolkata to Dhaka. It also flies to eight destinations in the Gulf region - Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dubai - from several Indian cities.
“With the launch of this service, passengers from Bangladesh can avail of our international services to North America, Europe and the Gulf, as well as ASEAN destinations, via our hubs in Mumbai and Delhi,” said Jet chief executive Wolfgang Prock-Schauer.
