Jet Airways No.1 domestic airline for sixth straight month
April 15th, 2010 - 9:23 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 15 (IANS) India’s private carrier Jet Airways along with its low-cost subsidiary JetLite has emerged as the leader for the sixth consecutive month in March capturing 26.1 percent of domestic market share.
Kingfisher Airlines’ market share was 23 percent while national carrier Air India’s was 17.8 percent.
Among the low-cost carriers, IndiGo’s share was the highest at 14.7 percent, the civil aviation ministry said in a statement Thursday.
Jet Airways carried 1.18 million passengers in March, Kingfisher 899,000, Air India 693,000, Paramount 50,000 while IndiGo carried 574,000, SpiceJet 463,000 and GoAir 206,000.
In all, the domestic airlines carried 3.9 million passengers in March.
